FSC Certified products
At Sycal we offer a range of branded paper notebooks made from FSC paper sources. FSC certification ensures that the paper you’re using has been sourced from responsibly managed and sustainable forests. However, we offer products that are classified as FSC Recycled. Our FSC Recycled branded gifts are manufactured from post-consumer recycled materials, meaning that no more trees needed to be cut down to create them. A great range of products for the more eco-minded organisations.
Paper products with a twist
However, trees are still being cut down and used for their resources to make FSC Certified products. In fact, cutting down a tree results in the stored carbon actually being released into the atmosphere, which is how deforestation further contributes to global warming.
While FSC paper is a positive direction for paper products, we have many products that ditch paper altogether.
Stone paper
Stone paper is more eco-friendly and sustainable than recycled paper. Not only is stone paper planet-friendly but it makes a waterproof, tear-proof and smoother higher quality product.
Made from calcium carbonate, a stone paper notebook uses less water and fewer chemicals to produce than standard or even recycled paper, with a silky and smoother texture.
Waste Paper
Food waste has proven to be a versatile material when producing promotional notebooks. Leftover plants from harvest, a surplus of food and even grass clippings are full of fibres for paper production.
We have a range of notebooks made from a variety of materials, for example, the Fabia crush notebook is made in Italy from unused olives and coffee, whilst the Organic Waste notebook can be manufactured from nuts, tomatoes, flowers and even onions. The beauty of these notebooks is that they gain their colours from the waste they’re made from.

Ecologi
Earlier this year, Sycal partnered up with Ecologi to help support the planting of new trees across the world. Since then our workforce has been working to gain a carbon-negative status and has planted over 1,400 trees.
On top of our monthly contribution, our trees have been supported by our customers, with orders over £750 we plant an additional 25 trees.
So far, our contributions so far have saved 28.24 tonnes of CO2e, which equates to 85 metres2 of sea ice saved! These impressive figures have been achieved in less than four months and it’s all down to the power of trees. Your next purchase can help provide a greener future.
